Foodpro 2026 - Welcoming Kevin Hill from ELEA

At Foodpro 2026, we're excited to welcome Kevin Hill from ELEA to the Innovation Stage, where he will present:

“Improving Yields, Energy Efficiency, and Quality in Potato Processing through PEF and AI-Based Process Control.”

Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology is transforming the way potato processors approach efficiency, product quality, and sustainability. As a non-thermal processing method, PEF induces electroporation within plant cells, improving the texture and processability of potatoes, fruits, and vegetables without compromising product integrity.

For potato processors, the benefits are significant. PEF can reduce product breakage, minimise starch loss, shorten frying times, and lower oil uptake, all while delivering improved yields and a more consistent final product.

Kevin will also introduce PiCon, ELEA’s AI-based inline process control system. By continuously monitoring product characteristics and adjusting processing parameters in real time, PiCon optimises PEF performance, helping manufacturers maximise efficiency, maintain product quality, and achieve more sustainable production outcomes.

Join Kevin Hill at the Foodpro Innovation Stage to discover how the combination of PEF technology and intelligent process control is helping shape the future of potato processing.
